Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR)

Looking for a humane and effective approach to addressing community cat populations? Look no further than Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). TNR is a proven method that saves lives, improves the lives of cats, addresses community concerns, and stops the breeding cycle.

No Kill Colorado has been active in TNR initiatives across the state. From Delta to Denver to Antonito we have worked to control our community cat population with TNR Spay/Neuter/Vaccination and medical care when needed. NKC dedicates more than $10,000 annually to mobile spay/neuter clinics in the most underserved parts of Colorado. Help us continue and expand this work.

Scientific studies and communities with TNR programs have demonstrated that TNR reduces and stabilizes populations of community cats. In fact, many cities have already adopted TNR with great success.

If you want to see TNR implemented in your community, take action now. Contact your local elected officials and let them know that TNR is a humane and effective solution for community cats.

Don't believe us? Check out "The Effectiveness of a Trap-Neuter-Return Program in a Chicago Neighborhood," a scientific study that proves the effectiveness of TNR. You can find the study here.

Still not convinced? Visit Protecting Community Cats for links to prior studies that demonstrate the effectiveness of TNR.

So why is your community still using a cruel, ineffective, and outdated 19th century catch and kill approach? It's time to enact a community cat law that supports TNR. Visit nokilladvocacycenter.org/community-cat-program.html for a guide on how to get started. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of community cats.
